Have just fitted metzeler ME880 170/80 rear and lazertec 110/80 front, immediately on riding a strange notchy vibration is evident once rolling feels like a rusty old chain but as soon as you lean say 5 to 10 degrees, even in a straight line the vibration smooths out so does not appear to be ballance, etc., but the actual tread notching on road. Seen previous posts referring to this but can anyone advise whether this settles down / reduces after a bit of wear of is this for life? The bridgestones were almost slick after 10k so may just be getting used to tread again. They do feel excellent around corners though.
Also has anyone fitted a rizoma rear master cylinder, bought one some time ago but never got round to fitting it yet, any advice on best place to fit appreciated. It is slightly smaller and far better looking than ugly ugly ugly triumph item.

I don't remember that at all on mine.

I replaced my lazertechs both front and back with 2 more lazertechs and haven't had any problems with them.

I also don't remember anyone else having problems before using lazertechs either.

Why not do a search on them and see what others say?

I'm switching out a front Lazertech which is worn down at 7000 miles! The rear 880 is fine. Very strange-front gone before rear-and yes, balance and alignment are right on. Going to a matching 880 front so we'll see how that goes.
Also, I check the pressure twice a week-always run it at 31 lbs.

Funny you mention that. I just had the same tires put on my 05 America. I couldn't describe the "vibration" I was feeling, however, it always appeared (or should I say I noticed it) at around 20mph. The best I could describe it as was a friction. Almost like the engine was getting bogged down. However, I explained to the dealer that I tend to keep the RPM's up and it was there when the clutch was engaged and when it wasn't. The dealer's mechanic (great guys and not at all like the stealers that we normally hear about) took the bike out and after test riding it explained that the Metzler's have a slightly harder ride. The Bridgestones are an "ok" tire, but you can really compare them to the Metzlers. My point... my bike was fine.

Thanks for your inputs, have just got another quick ride in and getting used to the very different feel no, I think the much higher pressures in the metzs gives a very different feel, taking it easy at the moment but on the twisties these tyres feel far better than the almost slick bridgestones. Hope the awful brit weather holds off this wekend so can get some goods miles in and really get used to this different set up thanks again.
