Well, I got to enjoy the new ride for about 20 miles. On my way home, picked up a nail in the rear and a flat was soon behind. Luckily, I made it home. Question, obviously a new tube is in order, how about a patch on the inside of the rear tire as well.Hate to trash a brand new tire if it's not needed. The hole is smack in the middle of the tire tread. Very small puncture. To ride or not to ride that is my question. Rode 8k miles without a problem and shazam on a NEW tire. I put a 120 on the front and have decided I just don't like the look. Going back stock. Check the classified section for a good deal on a new 20 mile 120/18, ME880. Watch those nails!!

Hi sctba
Getting a flat is a real bummer, had a few myself.
No way get ride of the new tire, you need a new tube thats for sure, you can patch the inside of the tire if needed no prob. my flats in both rear and front just had new tubes fitted and then refitted the same tires, done by two different bike shops, so i would say no worries there mate.
but im from oz , not sure if you guys have some strange laws out there with tires, but if you needed a new tire everytime you had a puncher that would cost a fortune.

Hey Herbz, thanks for the info. I had just about decided to ride when I saw your post. A repair is on tap. You're right about here (SC) only "repair shops" can or will patch the inside of a tire. Some will make you sign a waiver. Thanks again, ride safe.
