You have to leave the port where 14 plugged in open.
I put a small fuel filter on it to keep crap out.
Just got on. I did this about three months ago after four years. I would have told you to just take everything hooked to the system off, and cap the open ports on the carbs and manifolds (except the one between the carbs). If you know where one end is, the other is easy to find, just tug.
You might want to secure the vent hose with a zip tie, but just point it down somewhere.
You need to leave the vent hose attached to the tank. Do not plug the tank vent or it won't run. Don't pinch the vent hose, or it won't run.
Also, I got about a four mpg increase after removing the crap
