Got a Dyno today and if I can figure out how to post it here I would like some feed back.Dyno guy said to go 2 lower sizes on the pilot jet. Mech. guy told me to leave it alone. Any help out there as to where to go. I live at 6000ft but can go from 4000 to 11000 in a ride. Shop said it would get to lean at the lower elavations if I did to much. AI gone, freak ,TORS and 152 mains. Not sure what pilot is but it is stock.

Also told me to see if the main is shimmed and remove shim if it is. If I even know what I am talking about here.

also maybe turn out your mixture needles 1/8 to 1/4 turn

I'm just the opposite, I'd turn the mix screws in 1/4 turn and be happy. You'll have to look at the needle to see if it's shimmed by pulling the tops of the carbs; not a hard job but you'll want to visit dinqua.com to have a look see at the procedure.

I took it for a long ride on sunday and it ran good went over 2 passes one was 10850 did not have any issues. I was wondering why my #'s are low though. I am not sure why elavation would keep my HP low? I am still back firing ever now and then on a warm start. I am going to adjust the air mix tonight. Is it right that the air mix is only idle and the first 1/8 of throttle? If this is so how would that help the mid range?

By the way I started this project for a rough idle and that is gone so I am getting there.

so heres a stupid question.......
when you get your bike dynoed and they check the fuel air mixture, do they make 2 runs. one for each side or just 2 runs to get an average.

They did 2 runs for an average. Never thought about what the other clinder is doing!! They put the air/fuel censor in the right exhaust. I would say if carbs are balanced it would be close. But that would be a ? for some one else on here. I am still learning. Any thoughts out there.

All the dynos I have ever seen just snorkel one side with the AF probe. I suppose you could ask to have them switch it when they do the second run, they usually don't get off the bike though between the two runs, and are usually pretty fussy about you being behind the bike when they are operating the dyno. But it wouldn't hurt to ask would it.

Yep one side here too but I always thought normal was 3 runs to get a good indication. They don't normally get off the bike between runs. Last time I had mine done Vic commented on how cool our heads stay.
