Just thought I'd take a minute to indtroduce myself and ask a few questions. I'm kind of an old guy and I've been riding since I was 14. My first bike was a triumph and the new 08 TBA I brought home yesterday will probably be my last. Finally sold off my Yam Stratoliner last week.
I've only put a few miles on the BA, but I love it already. I'm sure I can find most of the information I will ever need on this forum.
I do notice a few things I'm going to want to change/add to the bike and your input would be appreciated. I bought a few accessories with the bike, like the hwy. bar, driver floorboards, rack and sissy bar, and roadster windshield.
I need to get passenger floorboards and from what I'm reading Rivco with the relocation brackets would be the way to go??
Also, the pipes are a little tame for me. Not looking for loss of hearing, but would like something with a little rumble. Suggestions?
Thinking also of a different seat in the future. I noticed Corbin makes one and I saw one on this British Customs site that looks like a Saddleman. Any suggestions?
Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the site, and congrats on your new America. If you want goodies for your bike (and you will), try fasteddysports.com or newspeedmaster.com - the guys that run those sites are members here. There are as many opinions about pipes as there are kinds of pipes... I got mine from another member here, Chevy605, that buys stock pipes and drills out the baffles - not rude loud but no more Jetsons car sound, and at a budget.

Welcome to the site, Erle! Betcha you've already noticed the ease in handling over the Yamaha, huh?!
Sorry, I'm not sure about the passenger floorboard thing, but I'm sure somebody around here will pipe in about that for ya.
And speaking of pipes...A whole lot of people around here seem to like their Sceptre exhaust systems, but if you're looking to just slightly increase your exhaust noise level, you can always do what I have done(and a few other around here too) and drill a half inch hole through the first forward baffle in your mufflers. I've found doing that will increase the sound a decent level without becoming too loud, and gives it a deeper resonance too. And of course, is a very inexpensive method also.
And regarding the seat, well, that's probably best left to your own judgement as everybody would have their own opinion regarding their personal preferences for fit/comfort/looks.
Cheers!
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Thanks for the welcome and the info. The handling on the America compared to the Yamaha is like having an 800 lb monkey removed from your back! The America is the blue on blue and I love it.
You know how it is with a new bike, just can't wait to make it the way you want it.
Thanks again for the info.

Welcome...If you go to exhaust in the tech talk section there are alot of questioins and answeres about pipes that could help...There's pipes out there that out there that run from moederate to ridiculous.
I run the TORS just loud enough to drown out the tapping sound, and they do get attention when fired.

Welcome to the club!
I used Bubs on my 07 TBA and they were awesome, better than the TORs. I'm hanging onto them and will put them on my next bike, even if the left one is a little scratched up.
Blue/White 2007 TBA, Thruxton needles, Unifilter, AI removed, Polaris Bellmouth, Bubs, Nology Coils/wires, Lightbar, Ricor Intiminators, Hagon Nitros, Tall Sissy Bar w/luggage rack, Dart flyscreen & Lowers. 130 Mains, TrueGel Battery MG12-BS.

Welcome, regarding pipes I think you sound like you are after something not to extreme, so the Triumph of roads would be ok.
