Hello 1st post. Bear with me New member and new '08 America owner. I've been reading the forums about a month and you guy's helped me decide on a Triumph.Lot's of great info here. Everyone gives good info without any bashing. My question: Does a gray or solar tinted windshield cause any problems at night when it is dark compared to a clear. The sun glares a lot of the console and I was thinking about a tinted shield.

Z Thanks for the response. I've had 2 bikes with clear windshields but no tints.

I have the light gray tint from clearview and had a clear one from memphis shades and like the solar or light gray tint better. IMO.

I have the light gray tint on my Clearview. It has absoultely no ngegative effect at night. Most of all, it looks much better during the day. The light gray tints actually look more invisible than the no tint. The clear ones look too obvious and reflect too much light. This is an opinion from someone who has done a LOT of trying out different windshields.

I have the solar on my Memphis Fats screen. It pretty much matches the factory roadster screen tint (which I had previously). I like it and have no problems at night.

As long as your not looking through the shield it's not an issue.

I've been following the windshield threads and contacted fasteddy. He said he is working on a Memphis Shades shield to mount with the triumph brackets. I just have to decide to wait for Eddy or go with the clearview. I am going to go with tinted. Thanks everyone

Solar is not an issue even at night, it is ever so slightly tinted that it makes no discernable difference.
