Has anyone put the Specialties Spares TT pipes/header made for the Bonneville on an America or Speedmaster?
I can only assume that the flanges would match? But what of the lower mounting tabs? Pics, clips, opinions?

OK, I can't resist, why? Specialty Spares make a number of models especially for our bikes that bolt right on and work and sound great.

I would like to find some new header pipes to eliminate the cross pipe....

RamSound,
I agree, I think they make some great sounding pipes, and their slipons seem to be really good quality.
It's the stock Triumph double wall headers I don't like. I hate all the seams and gaps. I much prefer a simple clean line header without all the "shields" giving it a fat blue-free appearance. From what I can tell, the TT's are the only setup that go from the head back. I had thought about stock bonnie headers, but I think the crossover might conflict with the forward controls? Another thought was to just cut off the "double wall" leaving the actual header, but then the after market cans might look odd since they are cosmetically fat to match the OD of the stock...
yes I think too much.
If you look at the "Speedblaster & Americant" pics in the customs forum, check out the America...I believe he has had some custom headers made, but single wall. I really dig that. Not too into the super long shark fin tails, but love the originality. The two bike side by side are a PERFECT comparison.

I understand Jinx, but I've never seen a single wall header on a Triumph that wasn't blued from the heat. The reason for the double wall headers was to not have blued headers. On my '71 Triumph, I had less restrictive exhausts (megaphone style), re-jetted, and tuned. Nothing could stop the headers from blueing.
With the double walled headers you can definitely avoid blueing with the engine properly tuned and set up. Some still blue that are running too lean and/or still have the AI installed.

Exactly! I like a natural heat colored pipe! I rode 60's and 70's bike for my first 10 years of 2 wheeled fun, all clean'n'shiny chrome pipes look wrong to me.
