Yes, that could have been a loaded question but it's not.
When I ride the '04 speedy solo the bike operates fine, no problems. I can tell when the carbs need synched when a little vibration comes through the bars and pegs. This two up bad vibration only happens when she rides (she's 5'6 130) and it happens between 3200 and 3900 rpm. When I putt at 3k rpm or 4k rpm you don't feel this vibration come throught the bike. The first few times this happened I thought I needed a new front tire, but I've since put on both front and back new tires (same metzlers), and had the steering head bearings checked. The 04 speedy has the touring seat, sissy bar/luggage rack/ and scepter pipes, with jet kit and ai removed.
That's why today I started noticing it wasn't at what speed we were going that the vibration came on, it was at that certain rpm range. I appreciate all responses, I'm going to check the motor mounts and or see if there's a frame crack or something weird like that. The bike has just over 15k and I've not had any problems with it except this. Again riding solo I don't notice this. thanks in advance.

I agree 100% with the above, however if your chain is good you might try pumping up your shocks up a notch or 2 when you have a passenger. I dont have enough experience on this bike yet, but on some others I have owned the chain will tighten when the back end is compressed.

Mine does it when I have a passenger . The only plausible 'splaination I have is that the vibration is always there - it's just absorbed in the shock springs . A passenger loads up the tension and the vibes transfer over the bike .

thanks for the info. I've jacked up the shocks two notches before but it made no difference. My chain slack is set at about 3/4 inch total. The adjustment is on the next to last notch at the adjustment hashes on the frame. Looks like I'll get a new chain and when I'm rich and famous some progressive shocks. appreciate the responses.

you want about an inch of chain slack, more is better than less
