Hi All: Down under in Aus triumph parts are extremly difficult to obtain with-out haveing to wait an extremly long peroid, I dropped into an bike shop i stubbled accross in the inner / southern suburb of Belfield, Trojan Classic Cycles predomently british bikes, That's an intresting place if you require help, parts service for Triumph, Norton, BSA, AJS, Matchless, Anyhow i'm haveing trouble finding an honest reputable triumph mechanic that knows there stuff, I was astounded by the reply i got from the prepriortor Pete that he only delt in pre 1987 bikes has heaps of gear for the older bikes, That's fine, but in conversation with him he revealed that he was quite prepared to deal in the new bikes Bonneville, speedy, america and had approched Triumph, to sell new bikes, stock all parts, and service only to be told he wasn't up market enough for them, Try going to any triumph dealer and ask for a part (yes we can get it but will have to order it) 6 weeks later you ring oh there's been a delay or not in Australia and you'll have to wait another 6 weeks, Thats ****** on behalf of Triumph Australia, Here's a guy thats wants to sell there product, stock a complete range of parts & service and is told he's not up market enough. I love my speedmaster but thats just crap, Triumph are only marketing the upper level of society and not the ground level honest bike lovers, Common Triumph wake up and smell the roses we need the parts, service, and back-up for your product not a slap in the face and shel,be right mate, Back-up, service & avalibility of parts for your product is what's needed. And here is a company thats prepared to do it, Shame on you Triumph.
2004 Speedy, Treat em mean to keep em keen.

Sorry to hear of your situation Rick. That is pretty crappy on the side of Triumph. Is there any sort of corporate hub for Triumph there in Australia you could contact and let your situation be heard?

I'm not a fan of my local dealer, i dropped in there last night on the way home from work to find some prices out and they acted like it was a real chore to even speak to me. I'm far more in favour of independent garages and mechanics who will chat to you about the bike and answer all the stupid questions without knowing how deep you pockets are.
Luckily, the america and speedy are really good bikes to work on (havent tried yet, but definately will be, big thanks to everyone on the site for that).
Unfortunately, i'm not loaded, so am not welcomed into the elite triumph clubs in my area. (my opinion only)

Trojan sell stuff on ebay....I found them by looking for stuff for my 3HW
While I was over there last year I went in the dealer in Hornsby, North Sydney. They seemed a helpful bunch, and I found the polar collar thing that attachs to the jacket....I'd never seen it over here. Needless to say I got it, and it was very good over the winter. This is where you say it was Hornsby you went to...
srogerson - the TOMCC should accept anyone - I've not been the most affulent person recently (due to illness) and another member makes me feel rich - his Sprint (late 90's one) is only firing on 2 out of 3 cylinders and he has absolutely no technical knowledge, and no money to take it to a garage to get it sorted. We are BOTH comittee members too - I'm Ride Captain and he is Secretary. Go and stick with it.

03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel...
06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel...
09 America - It's very blue....

Start a letter writing campaign to Triumph headquarters. I know they have certain standards of what they want their dealers to look like, number of models on the floor at a time, yearly quota, etc, but maybe some persistent pushing from a couple people in the area would get them to budge.
I can understand the idea of wanting every dealer to meet a certain standard, but I hate the levels some companies to go where it's like Walgreens - everything is exactly the same except the street it sits on.... dealers should all be a bit unique!

Well, I can certainly "understand" Triumph's reluctance here! You see, if the dude doesn't have enough wall space in order to display all of Triumph's new hermetically sealed parts, or wouldn't have enough room to accomodate enough snoby and ill-informed salesmen like most Harley-Davidson "boutiques" do nowdays, well then, what kind of "motorcycle shop" do you expect those "bright fellas" in Hinckley to authorize anyway, HUH?! (man...I'm gettin' SOOOOO good at this here sarcasm thing, AIN'T I???!!!)

After being a Triumph dealer for years, The dealer I bought my bkie from, the one where the sales staff actually seemd to know the bikes, and the saleman told me not to buy the extended warrenty because it was not worth it. Got dumped by Triumph.Because they did not have enough space. To setup the "boutique" Triumph(snobby Brits) want to draw in the more "up scale"customers.
The dealership got passed to one of those motorcycle "superstores".Where the pretty sales staff hasnt got a clue what they are selling.Hmm maybe thats why I seldom go there.
The percentage you're paying is too high-priced

And the man in the suit has just bought a new car
From the profit he's made on your dreams

If you come to Florida, Arlen Ness Triumph in Ormond Beach is good. Bob in parts is excellent. Really tries to help you They seem to stock the parts we need and want. They put all other Central Florida Dealers to shame.
I was so much older then, I am younger than that now (Wrote By Dylan Sung by the BYRDS,)

Well, that means the Missoula, MT, Triumph dealers days are numbered. That place is tiny.

I have a feeling that there may be more to it than just "not up-market" enough.
