So I bought this SM 2 years ago off Ebay only beacause I saw the potential of what it could look like if I took some time and money to chop it up. It is my FIRST Triumph ever and because of the fun I have had working on it and the help I have recieved off of this site, I will never buy another HD (which I have had all of my life up to this point)! THANK YOU to all! Well, needless to say, I am happy with the outcome and for sure it is one of a kind. Any questions on what I have done or how I have done it, please let me know and I'll fill ya in; there is too much stuff to list. The first pic is before I started and the rest, well thats what it looks like today. The only thing I have left to do it recover the seat and grips in red wine.

gotta admitt the shocks look so much better than the struts that were on there. How many miles do you have on those KandN's in the pic. Mine aren't pink anymore, kinda greyish pink.

Those are stock rubbers, I am putting on whitwewalls here shortly when I replace tires. The shocks are stock, just cut down to 10 3/4 inches.

Seat is great! I have installed "butt foam" (look it up online) under the leather so it is great. Its like that crazy temperpedic mattress material.

Seen your bike a few times on the forum and have always liked it. The more I see the relocated battery box the more I want one. Did you do the work yourself or did someone supply it.
Top bike,
Cheers

I dig it! What did you use for a seat pan and mounting hardware? did you fab all of it or buy a kit?

Could you tell me about the seat? It looks great. Where did you get it? How does it mount? Much custom work to get it on? How much? Great job on the bike, it looks awesome!

Ok, lets see where to start...Awesome on the screensaver! Thats a first for me! The cable length-I dont remember what I used. Just mock up your bars and then runa piece of yarn the exact way you want to run your cables, take it off, measure and call Motion PRO and get your order in. All in all it cost me about 175 bucks with shipping included and I had them in just a few days! The battery box- you have to cut your stocker up and use part of the stock airbox as well. PM oldroadie (Ed), he has the specs and a diagram of what you need to do with measurements. The seat-bought it off Ebay for 20 or 30 bucks. Do a search for custom Harley/Triumph solo seat and you will find a million. It comes with 2 bolts attached to the uderside of the seat. I cut one off and then simply ran a piece of 3/8 inch steel from under the gas tank bolt to that bolt on the seat. The back of it I mounted 2.5 inch springs and then tapped in some double threaded car water pump bolts to the frame. The springs sit right down on top of them and is secure as can be! The wiring under the seat-I pulled back the wiring harness and the protective coating and just made some slack in the wires and then black zip tied them to the frame out of site for that Clean look. All was VERY easy to do! Now just wait until I get the whitewalls, the new red wine leather for the seat and matching hand grips! THANKS to all for the comments (good or bad welcome!) this site really is the reason I have done all that work!

Jeff's delirious from all of the hard work it takes to produce such a nice piece , brokenfixed (Tommy) has the specs; I just provided the donor battery box and chunk of air box that goes on the fender I can't wait to see the new seat, grips and tires

Nice bobjob. I put wide bars on mine. Where'd you get the sprung seat and fork gaiters (bonnie?) also the tape over the exhaust downpipes, did you remove the header shrouds?

What was used for the paint, and are you happy? I'm thinking of doing the same paint job in the next off season, but would prefer to avoid paying someone else to do it if possible.

Very nice look, love it.

The seat came off ebay as did the springs. I got the gators from newspeedmaster.com and as for the paint, it is Dupont semi flat. I have resprayed the back fender with semi flat spray paint from autozone to cover a patch my bag rubbed on a long trip and it matches perfectly. No issues with gas smear or cleaning. I like it!
