A few weeks ago, four rigs in our 4x group (including me ) crossed Nevada on dirt roads. Well, mostly dirt roads (We had to cross pavement a few times to get to the next trail head)
Four days of camping, wheelin' and history. We'll be running a similar trip next year (Not across Nevada but exploring the area between 50 and 6. Lots of ghost towns and atomic test sites). Anyway, here's some pics. I'll post a full write up later:

Man that looks like fun, would love to do that some time. Must be plenty of ghost towns in the US. Great pics by the way

Thanks for sharing the pics. That looked like a lot of fun. Of course, I'd prefer a KLR 650 over the Jeep, but to each his own! Keep them coming.

Please excuse my ignorance here, but is Bodie some kind of living museum, i suprised no one has dragged those cars out of there.

It's a ghost town that's in a state of arrested decay. It's part of the California State Park system. You can get in from the main road off of 395 south of Bridgeport or go in by 4x trails on Aurora canyon Road and Bodie Trail.
