Sometimes I take things for granted and forget how good something I have really is. It happened today with my America.
A friend of my wife's is ready to buy a bike and is leaning toward a Honda. I put down some criteria that I thought were 'had to haves' like disk brakes and nice to haves like 'shaft or belt drive'.
Then I went though all of the Jap bikes and threw the new America in for comparison. Just based on features, the 900 Kawa came out first on my list and the America second and that was only because it had chain drive or it would have been first.
The point is the Triumph America and Speedster really do stack up well with other bikes in the price/performance range. I was amazed how out of date the Honda cruisers below 1600cc have become.

I agree, it is a plus. I truly feel that the simpler the better. In all my looking, and compareing, I still have not found anything I like better than my America.

Don't forget the soul factor. IMO the Triumph has much more soul than the japanese bikes, not to mention the coolness.

Plus, nothing gets the same amount of attention as our bikes. It never stops surprising me how often I am riding with a bunch of other bikes and people always come up to me to get a closer look. A true classic right off of the assembly line!

Go and do that now. We'll wait.
