I got my new Hagon shocks and while installing them, I noticed the stock shocks have a metal collar inside the rubber bushing, where as the Hagon shocks do not.

Should I go find some collars and install them on the Hagon shocks or just tighten the bolt down till it stops? Only thing I notice is the bushing starts to push out as I tighten, making me worry I am going to damage them if I ride like that.

Hi Trey,

mate, Hagon should have sent you a set a bushes to match these shocks because of the way the stock bushes are.

My Hagon distributor sent me some which I wasn't happy with, so he sent me another set that fit properly. These bushes are just rubber without any metal inserts and to prevent them being pushed out I just used washers that were wider than the eyelet thus holding the bushes in nice and firm.

Here's a pic of my lower mounting post with the back washer and once the shock is mounted with the proper bushes inside, the outside washer is the same size.

So if you don't have the proper hagon bushed it might be an idea to contact them so they can send them to you.

Thanks for the info. I actually stopped by the hardware store this morning and bought larger washers to hold the rubber bushings in. Seems like I should have no problem now. Great minds think alike.

I could always get some bronze sleeve bearings and insert them in the center of the rubber bushings to replicate the stock function, but I see no need really at this point.

that's good Trey. Nothing like getting new shocks. Makes your bike just a pleasure to ride.
