I am just booking my 07 America in for its first service (4000 miles) and they have quoted £250 -300 for the work. I assume they are changing more than the oil and plugs? Does anyone else know what they do for this much money? Fork oil, hub grease, brake overhaul??? i bloody well hope so. Or is it all for the Triumph christmas party booze fund . any info appreciated. Martin

I think I paid around the £250 mark for the first service - which is at 6000 miles or one year, or at least that's when I had mine done.

Sounds expensive. My first service of my 07 at 1 year old or 6000 miles ( bike actualy only had 2200 on it) was cost of parts ( oil, oil filter, sump seal ) and 1 1/2 hours lab. They do make quite a few inspect parts on the service and I know that I did not need brake pads or anuthing else, like chain adjusted (they did lube it though). They quoted me 2 hours lab (£120 but it only took 1 1/2. and I notice they also checked CO at idle. Bill was £81. Official triumph dealer as well.

My dealer was £125 for the first service and £250 for the second and they reckon on £500 for the third ...I can see a pattern emerging...if it was not for the warranty they could get stuffed....

You can take your bike anywhere as long as they use Genuine Triumph parts...

My first service 6000 miles in Oct 02 was £62, and 12000 miles June 03 was £142, only had it done for warranty purpose. Done all myself since then, these bikes ar'nt exactly difficult too work on.

I agree Andy, they are not hard to work on.. Mine has just hit the 13000 and it is now booked into my mate to do the shims and service

Doing the work is no hassle for me either, so maybe thats the way i will go. So just for warranty i will get it serviced, but not at triumph. Does anyone have a reccomendation for a good garage. in the London / SE area?

A pitty you live so far away Martin, the mechanic I use is sh1t hot and believes that if you pay for something it should be done properly. And he does not over charge either which is a bonus

Evening Ray...£425.00? The same dealership 'only' quoted £400 for a Rocket 3 service (main).... it's 'only' £400 to service a Pan European....(Honda ST1300 for the guys across the pond)..
I reckon this will be the last main dealer service that i have.....
Please tell me you dreamt that figure Ray lol..

Ian booked it in for the 13000 mile service and that is what I got quoted as they said it needed the shims doing, I told them to go forth and multiply. I then asked for a oil and filter change and got quoted £90.00. I said alright, then rang them a couple of days later and cancelled it. That is our local dealer in Blackburn..

Jeez - it's gettin' outta control !! hmmmm If i serviced the bike myself (or a friend) therefore forfeiting the main dealer stamp in the service book i'd save £625 at today's prices..... would my bike for worth £625 less without those two stamps in the book - Especially if i kept receipts and still used genuine Triumph parts?... mind you, i wonder how much the parts would actually cost? Decided it was worth the money getting this 6000 mile service, if it mans that my warranty is still valid... had a phone around the local dealers.. and just got a quote from jack lilley in ashford for £140!! going to book it quickly before they change their mind!!!!! as long as i get the stamp i dont mind what they do. And i will give it a full service myself, that way i am fully covered
