... for the mythical mid sized cruiser, I traded the ST for a new Rocket 3 today.

This is me right now

I wonder if the America will stop buggering me about and run properly when it sees the competition

Standard. I prefer the foot forward riding position.
Might get the Classic bars later though.
Not too keen on the footboards / leg position of the Touring.

I've opted for the gel touring seat / pillion.
Wendy will probably be VERY glad of the sissy bar too.

Hiya Mark
First off, I get it next Thursday at noon.
Second, I haven't even tried to see how to post pics on here since the updated software.

So you'll have to either PM me your e-mail address or wait until someone else who knows how to put pics on here snaps me

Nice one FT,
Colour????
Agree mucho on the pegs f/boards thing and the "touring" just isn't really a rocket just a bit toooooooo steady for my liking......... mind you did an errand last Sunday for the guys at A1 moto and surprise surprise you can carry a £9.99 bargain bucket (KFC) and gravy, beans coleslaw and extra fries in the panniers without squashing/ spilling.
Mind you not a good enough reason IMHO, just toooo lazy after the real thing
ENJOY,
Scarboro' racing this WE so you could come up for the day and book in for the 500 service on Monday..... see ya , Mike

Too late now, bike is mine but I must admit, had I tried that , it might've swung the deal in the Tourer's favour!!

Tempting mate, very tempting
Gotta say though, Scarborough's weather forecast is dire the next few days
Service already booked, I sorted that last week.
Rain or shine, it's going back Monday am for the service with AT LEAST 500 miles on it

If I don't get up there this weekend, we'll have to sort at least a meet out though.
If you can do a weekday (Thursday / Friday), Wendy and I we're looking at heading up to Holy Island pretty soon.
I think a couple of days in that neck o' the woods would be good.
We could meet up eh?

I hope that thing handles better than the Harley Barge Glide you rented in Vegas.

I doubt it* could be any worse
I was NOT sorry to give that POS back.
I thought the ST was hot in the gentleman's trouser department but that Glide burned like a bugger!

I can usually organise a thurs or friday off given at least 10 days to shuffle the diary so when you do plan a trip up this way let me know and a meet is on the cards.
That there daffyd type chap sometimes gets a thurs off as well, if we formulate a plan I will let him know........ sort of an impromptue day meet like thingy.

There's nowt wrong with an impromptue day meet like thingy .... especially when they're planned at least 10 days in advance!

Picked it up 1pm Thursday from the dealer.
Had a couple of days on it but only managed to clock up 300 miles so far, too many sightseeing stops!

Taking it back Monday am for the 500 mile service, will easy clock up those miles tomorrow (Sunday), raining today and I can't be arsed battling with steamed up glasses / visors to ride too far today.

Bike is brilliant, should have got one years ago.

Isn't that like Michelle Phillips worrying about Mama Cass taking away all her boyfriends? The Rocket might belt out a big song, but the America is who you want to go home with at the end of the night.

In four years I've had five bikes from that dealer .... I've had the America for four years, 'nuff said.
I used to say I wanted to be buried on the America, I told Wendy the other day I'll settle for a tank badge on each side of the box instead

Thanks for doing that Ray

I took those pics this morning ... that means it's just over two weeks old and STILL CLEAN!!!

Yes, I've been baffle drilling too, I took it out for a test ride after the rain so it's now pretty grubby and needs a wash, might give work a miss for a while and go and do it.
Thunderstorms just passed over and it's sunny again!
