Sunday, June 08....Well, frog is still on the jack...I did get the cylinder head on with the new head gasket (yes, it's installed and torqued per the manual)...I got to working on her at 0630 this morning, trying to get the shimming right (still)...My neighbor showed up this afternoon, and Im not gonna say what I was doing wrong..I am soooooo embarrassed. I got to "sanding" the shims, using a digital micrometer, which ruined all of them, and turns out, I was using the wrong scale on the feeler gauges...Which he reluctantly pointed out...What a DUMBA$$$...Gotta have 8 new shims,,,Get ready Chy...Putting rest of components onto engine....

Well ,the only update that can be applied to " Frog Died " is that Frog lives !

All gaskets received, all shims located, need to go to Cumming and get 2 shims, then Douglasville for the other one shim...then install shims, cams, torque, and check..If all clearances satisfactory, will install side cover, valve cover, carbs, and fire her up,,,,hopefully by Sunday...buying $50 worth of Mobil V-twin and a filter today...

SUCCESS!!! Boy I've been waitin a LONG time to type that word in this thread....Shims installed, Cams torqued, all back together, 60 mile ride this morning, she purrs like a cat....and runs like a tiger....no leaks noted, OK for continued service (airline mechanic lingo)...Man its good to be back on my own Frog again!!!!!
