Anyone have any ideas? I took a nice size rock to the top of the housing and lost some of the plating. Or, replace... spend the $100 on a new housing...

Thanks

just sand it down and paint it black or grey or something. Its only a piece of plastic.

I've been thinking about painting the chromed 'dash' a flat black. The reflection can be a real killer.

Funny you should say that, I just finished that with a little flat black and flat white in other places, like the tank badge~~~~really cuts out the glare

Whoa,,,,with that glare off the pipes they may be next, then the wheels,,oh does it ever end?? no, yes i don't like chrome

I painted mine with the krylon plastic paint in satin black. It holds up really well if you scuff the shiny chrome up a bit. I spilled gasoline on it with no problems at all too. This is the best pic i have have right now of it.

I used duplicolor high temp "semi flat" engine paint on a bunch of parts on mine. Console included. I figured engine paint might be a little more gas resistant... Plus I like the semi flat/semi gloss/satin look to it. Matt thought it looked powder coated!
