hi all.. first hope every one is have a great MEMORIAL DAY.. to day me and the wife went down to the Hornell area looking for a place to hold the rally.... and this is what we found out we look at a few hotel.. and man we got a shock only one place would give us a deal and to get it we need to book at least 30 rooms and it would still cost us 60 bucks a night.. ok so we went to a few camp gounds and yes we did get a better deals...and the we stoped at Stony Brook State Park...and wow the guy that runs the park is a biker found out we can get a place in the park that is just for groups so we will have are own place in the park with are own bath rooms and showers.. and we can bring in all the tents we want or campers and people this is the best part..... we get all of this for $2.50 a night per person i all most fell over.. so if you spent 3 nights there in this spot.. it still won't even cost you 10 bucks.. oh and the other great thing about this spot we don't have to follow the the rules that the other spot in the same park have to follow so fokes please give us some feed back on this there are still hotels close by if fokes want to go way... so PM me or put it here thanks ED

Ed, I think we should jump on this as soon as possible. Stoney Brook is a great place to camp, and the terms you got are phenomenal. I doubt you will find a better deal anywhere.

By our own showers etc you mean one shower house type place we all share right? Not like individual shower stalls?? Does sound like a great deal. I like the idea of one stop shopping.

I'm not your ah-ver-ag bear, Boo-Boo, and it sounds like a great time to get some pik-a-nik baskets. I'm in even if its in a tree, Ed. This sounds fantastic. More chances to hear the loons, the better it is for me!!! And, Yota - I'll bring the soap.

It would be cheaper to buy a tent when we get there and leave it, if there was no room on the bike to take it home! Walmart has one that slleps 6 for $50.

What are you looking at for a time frame here?
The percentage you're paying is too high-priced
While you're living beyond all your means
And the man in the suit has just bought a new car
From the profit he's made on your dreams

wait one stinkin minute, Ed - I just googled the park - No lake - how am I gonna hear loons?
One more question for those less comfortable sleeping in a sack next to an opossum - How far from ground zero to one of those high priced motels?

Do you have time to go take a nap in one of their lawn chairs, and let me know if they're comfy?

I bet you'd get about 50/50 for camping/hotel. I think making the camp ground the center of opps is a great idea if we can basically have the run of the place and there's a can!

I am in but I will probably be staying at a motel. I don't think I can fit a sleeping bag and a tent on my bike along with all the other items needed if I plan on roughing it for the weekend. But definitely count me in.

I am located about 65 miles from Stony Brook. If people have camping equipment but dont want to load up their bikes, I would be willing to serve as a shipping point for the tents/camping eq. Shipping camping eq should definately be cheaper than 3 nights at a hotel. I would load up the truck and drive down to drop off eq Thursday. Let me know if anyone wants to do that. If we go with camping, I definately will be there Thurs - Sunday.
