Has any one used the Mercury Tuner available at newspeedmaster.com? Can you speak to it's accuracy?

Is it work just coming up with the extra cash for the Morgan tuner?

my other bike (honda magna) is next on the list for modification, so the tuner will be most helpful (4 cyl, 4 carbs!)

I use the one I make from clear tube and a yard stick, all said and done it costs me less than $10 to make. Add a small ball valve to the bottom of the loop and you can control it so nothing gets sucked into the engine. I use 2 stroke oil in it so even if it does it won't hurt anything. cheap balancer This is very accurate, possibly too accurate.

I had a non mercury type Sync Pro... HATED IT !!!
Very difficult to calibrate!
Bought a Morgan Carbtune and I cannot express how pleased I am with it. A breeze to use! Absolutely worth the $$ and more.

I used the clear tubing yardstick one for a while, then I bought a pair of small vacuumn gauges for about $10 each.

vacuum gauges don't sound like that bad of an idea ... is there a downside to using those?

The one from newspeedmaster is a great device...simple and effective...with 4 tubes as well. I like it better than the yardstick I used at first...mostly because it is smaller and the fear of mercury keeps the wife away from it!

The needles can bounce around making it hard to read.

I have a pair of gauges that when I first put them on, the needles bounced around crazy. I then put in each line these thumbscrew arrangements that allowed me to stop the bouncing, and now they work beautifully.

BTW, I also have the murcury one but I prefer the gauges.

I use a pair of small C-clamps on the clear tubing. Tighten them down just until the needles quit bouncing. Works great. Switch them to double check.

Edit- Bought mine here. Page 575. Item number 3935k52 (on home page scroll down to the third section "Process control and instrumentation" and click on "vacuum and compound gauges") Price has gone up a bit in a year and a half. They have all kinds of stuff. Bought a set of metric feeler gauges while looking for the page.
