Hey Guys - Pop just made up some axle nut covers. I wanted to get ya'lls opinion. Is this something you'd like to see? Do you like this shape? What other shapes would look good? Any other comments would be greatly appreciated. As always, Thanks!! -brent

Not to derail the thread, but what ever happened to the tocket caliper covers for us? I think they look cool. Something low profile for the front axle would be nice too...

Hey Benny - Those on my bike are the Rocket caliper covers. You can get them from the Rocket site.... For the America, you'll want to get 2 rears. The Speedmaster needs one front set and one rear.
As you can see, the rear cover is a little bigger than the actual caliper but the front is a perfect fit.

I like those axle nut covers! Spikes would look cool too (they would match my licence plate frame). Is there a chance you could make something that could go onto (into since they are allen heads) the front axles too? Soren

They look pretty good.... Another idea would be to make them like the factory covers only with Union Jacks etched in them instead of the grooves.

Looks good, but not what'd I'd put on my bike - not into spikes, skulls, maltese crosses etc... I'd buy Grump's suggestion tho.

We thought of the Union Jack but the only thing I'm worried about is the fact that it wouldn't be orientable. Meaning you'd need to tighten/loosen the nut to get the flag straight. Wouldn't want someone to loose something because they wanted a straight flag....

You have to do that already with the factory grooved ones...

I can understand your caution... but it really isn't that big of a deal. What's a few newton-metres between friends??

I think they look nice, but I would like them just domed to match the shock bolt covers I have on.

Hi Brent,
Looks good. Nice works as always!
Some thoughts… Given the current design, you'd need to tighten/loosen the nut to get the Union Jack straight. Or you could engineer it male. That way it can mate with the female spindle? Hollow. Also, a groove on the protrusion for an o-ring, that way the interior of the spindle stays watertight.
Yet from your picture I can't tell how it’s secured. Since it rides on the outer area of the spindle nut(s) I'm guessing you have a set screw on it. Given the need for securing it, maybe the male axle cover idea would lack a secure set point. Would friction only suffice? Then again it looks like the cover is a two tiered cover. If so a set screw could be used with a male axle cover.

Another vote for the domed look, I like it like this too, but a choice would be cool. And, like moe says, how do they attach? Just screw on I imagine?

Hey Brent, I was wondering if there was any thought to make new front axles for the BA/SM's? Something maybe with a bolthead instead of an Allen head? This could clean up the front-end a bit more with more choices available for axle nut covers. Just a thought.

I would like some sort of cover back there, but not a spike. There are no spiked ends anywhere else on my bike. A dome would be better for me.

The front end would be easy to do. All the Triumph ones are a cap that slips into the allen head with an o-ring in it to keep it in place.

looks pretty good, but it needs a union jack or the edge rounded or something. It kind of reminds me of the little plastic butter cup you get at a takeaway window. Maybe a bit of an hourglass shape would do it.
