Well time has flown by since i first decided to make the trip down to the Costa Del Sol in Spain(Nerja).
I'd originally planned to do the trip with 2 buddies but for various reasons will now be going it alone...
So Monday sees me board the ferry at Newhaven to take me to Dieppe from where i'll head off through the pouring rain (according to the forecasts) toward Orléans. The following day i head towards Villeneuve Sur Lot where i intend to 'cold call' on a buddy that moved there 9 years back (i drove the van that carried all his worldly possesions)... well he always did say "If you're ever passing"....

If he's not out of town maybe i'll spend a couple of days with him and his missus before heading into Spain where the next stop is Getafé (Madrid). While there I've been invited for a ride out with a Tiger rider from another forum..('RAT' something or other

)
Then it's a case of heading straight for the south coast where i'm booked into an apartment from which i can plan the odd beer with my friends who moved there some years back....one of them is a Harley rider who knows some great scenic routes so really looking forward to that!
Last week an old school friend contacted me via one of those social websites and it turns out that she's relocated to Spain herself... she's invited me to stay with her and her GIRLFRIEND

at their apartment (200 miles away) to catch up

..... but that's not all.. they own their own bar and live right next to a motorcylce shop!!

.. and yeah i'll be spending a night with them...ha ha..
Yesterday my best friend from school (who now lives in Belfast/Ireland) rang me to tell me that he's also gonna be in Spain at the same time so it's gonna be more like a school reunion!!

So after spending 11 days in Nerja i'll be riding through Spain in a day right up to Bayonne (south France). The following day sees me hit Dieppe from where i intend to catch the ferry home...
All told the trip will be around 4,000 miles... really glad i've just taken delivery of a pair of Progressive 440 shocks and some Harley risers (5" lift - 2" pull back).
I actually have a helmet cam which i hope will work this time (unlike at the dent meet

) so looking to make a video diary... but if it does work i think i'll aim to make a 1 minute interesting film rather than a 2 hour boring one...
Luggage wise i have leather bags (easy bracket), a Kuryakin hold all and a .......wait for it.... GIVI MAXIA top box.... yeah i'd really thought long and hard about this as i was convinced that it simply didn't suit the TBA... how wrong could i be...bought 2 Triumph decals off Ebay and now the GIVI's look like factory Triumphs

...well maybe not...but at least they look reasonably credible!
The wife reckons she'll miss me......

Anyway... tips/tricks more than welcome!!
