I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this question, but when I'm shifting gears the noise (at least to me) is really loud. Is this Normal? If not what needs to be done? When I drive next to other bikes It seems to me that theirs dont shift as loud. Any info will help.
Thanks

Normal shifting through the gears isn't too bad, but dropping into first at a stop always sounds loud.

I have a nice "clunk" when shifting. I kinda like it. Never thought it was abnormal, Just part of my steeds character.

Pretty clunky, changing oil brands didn't help, I'm used to it now.

I assume this is on a new bike.....when you change over to fully synthetic, allot of engine noise will subside.

Mine tends to "clunk" into first gear from a stop. I think its representave of the bike to a degree.
I do know last year when I had a new chain , sprockets, and cush drive replaced all at one time the clunking was much quieter to begin with. The new chain was optimally tight and of course that new TBS cush drive was tight. Now a year later the cush drive is probly a little looser and the chain is not as "tight" as she was new.
I think If I just went out and made the chain slack exactly to spec that alone takes out some of the drive slack.

Mine went from a CHA-CLUNK to a clunk after I got my tach and set the idle down to 1000 rpm. It was idling at 1400.
That is when shifting from neutral to 1st. All other shifts are quiet. I do use the clutch when shifting.

Mine will normally "clunk" from 1st to 3rd gears. Hardly ever hear anything from 4th or 5th. Every so often the lower gears will be quiet, but it doesn't last long.
