With fuel prices having passed through indecency and well into insanity, it's the perfect excuse to convince the missus that it's time to dust off old Betsy and take up riding again.

Seems like everything with two wheels is being pressed into service around here. A lot of scooters (vespa type) are showing up, too. Hmmmmm... Vespas and pickup trucks living together, mass hysteria.

There was a great article in one of the rags about used japanese bikes a couple months bag. Frankly I'm tempted myself! If I get a new job with no company car, then I wouldn't mind something with NO chrome I can wash n dry, leave out in the rain, etc. Just wax the chain, fill the tank n ride.

Motorcyclist is also coming out with a new mag called Motorcyclist Retro.
The first issue has a Kawasaki triple and a CB750 on the cover.

There used to be a Brit mag called MotoRetro, don't know if it's still around.

One of my buddies has a great collection of about 15 classic bikes. His last few acquisitions have been from the fast growing "Japanese Classics" category. Within the last couple of years he's purchased absolutely perfect and low mileage examples of a '70 CB750 and a '74 Kawasaki Z1. Gorgeous, and historically significant machines, both!

And since he's purchased them, they've almost doubled in market value.

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Is that the "Water Buffalo" Suzuki you're talkin' about, Ian?

If it's in great shape and has been kept in stock condition, you may be surprised how much demand there is for that particular bike nowdays(at least out here in CA) and thus it's market value is raising too!

Nah it's kinda rough and buried under a bunch of junk in one of my sheds. It is stock though and all there except the gas cap cover plate that went missing years ago. I have 2 380s that could go with it too that have been robbed for various parts over the years.
