Hiya,

Just bought some universal slip on mufflers with removable baffles. I'll only use the baffles to squeeze through the annual test. I'll also be fitting a freak airbox replacement when it arrives.

Any idea which size jets to use with this set up?

Thanks

You will need some sort of baffle or reducing cone, not just an open pipe. Totally open will hurt your bottom end torque.

The kit has the reduction cone for the baffle, which will be left in place when the baffle is removed. The plan is

Grind off all the heat shields on the original, badly blued and pitted headers.

Wrap headers in heat wrap and coat with black ceramic.

Add these "street legal" mufflers without baffles.

Add car turnout tailpipe covers.

Remove air injection.

Remove airbox completely

Remove side panel mounting points from frame.

Relocate battery

Install freak.

Jet size is still a worry, as I don't want it to burn to lean.

Anymore suggestions will be much appreciated.

go big and then back them down... I would look at an open exhaust hi flow setup... The dinqua site gives great ballpark figures...

Get Pats jet calculator , you can put your elevation and basic set up in and it will give you a good starting point. I have found the calculator to be a little rich but a good place to start. Go with a 45 pilot to start once the air box is gone and open pipes are installed if you go much over 3 turns out go up 1 pilot size and re-adjust.
