My wife and I are gonna do that road the following week, after coming back from Florida. Missed you guys by a week. Wave on the way back if ya see us. We'll be the ones with the burned up skin (wife) and the glowing tan(me). Also the ones with the dorky mickey hats and beach shirts from the keys.

How about this idea, tell em your going out for a jug of milk. When you get back in 8 hours or so you can tell them, uh,uh...oh well you'll think of something.

Big Poppy, I understand but would love to have you guys come along. Keep in mind you do not have to ride The Dragon to ride Cherohala Skyway. From Robbinsville,NC. I will head north on 129 back through the Dragon to Tennessee. But If you take 129 south from Robbinsville this will take you back into Georgia.Check your maps. Mike

I made it home about 10:00. Mike, thanks for planning and leading the ride; it was a great day. Ed, Mark, and John, I enjoyed riding with you guys today. My dinasaur camera didn't seem to survive the ride home, so I don't think I'm going to have any pictures to share.

Yep, a pretty BRG Trophy sitting at the corner with a big For Sale sign and a tiny note that said $3700 OBO. 12K miles. Now I have to go over to the dark side (t-rat.net) and read up on the shortcomings before I make that phone call (let's not get into the permission discussion, okay?). After 300 mi in the saddle on the America the Trophy pegs seemed awfully close and I need to learn if they could be adjusted...
Will, PM me your address and I'll send you a disc of what I shot, there a couple of pretty okay pix.

Glad to see everyone back home safe and sound. Good to see John,Mark,Will and Ed. We also met Mrt202(Rob)and his dad at Tellico Plains. They elected to go on ahead, hope you guys got back home safe. The ride was great, Cherohala beautiful as always. One of our favorite BBQ places has closed in Robbinsville. Ed came to the rescue by sniffing out another BBQ house, hey man it's North Carolina there's always another one just around the bend. The traffic on the Dragon was thick, Ed claimed he got up to 30 mph but I think he was fudging a bit. As I mentioned to someone after we came through all we needed was the homecoming queen in a cadillac to complete the parade. All and all a beautiful day with good folks good roads and good times.Let's do it again sometime. Mike

It was good to meet you guys. Glad y'all had a good and safe ride. Sorry I didn't get to ride with y'all this time. My aunt has lupus and she was not feeling well, that's why my uncle was in such a hurry to leave. Hopefully we can get together again soon for another ride. I'm looking forward to it.

Well, we all know how terrible the speedos are when it comes to accuracy subtract 10% and it was more like 27 mph
The truth is that Mike is a much more accomplished rider than I'll ever be and if it hadn't been for that slow HD bagger in front of him holding up the parade we'd have seen some real riding. ride report (you'll have to scroll down a ways...)

Sorry, it took so long for me to chime in.
The ride was one of my top ten, the new back rest made the day fun and the long runs enjoyable.
Instead of riding the dragon we walked the dragon way to many bikes on the roda and lots of police, but it still was a beautiful ride.
I left a 5:30 in the morning and rolled into the garage round 7:30.

Sorry guys that I missed this thread earlier or I would have joined you. I live just a few miles from the Tennessee end of the Dragon. Was up on the Cherohala the week before you.
Did spend last week riding around Suches and Helen in northern Georgia though.
