Glasgow Rangers v Zenit St Petersburg Manchester 14th May 2008 I will be there - picked up my ticket on Saturday!!! They are selling on ebay for £1,400! Will be well over 100,000 Rangers fans in Manchester on Wednesday. I have a feeling it will be a 90 minute siege on our goal reminiscent of the 900 day siege of Leningrad. However, my prediction is: Rangers 1 Zenit 0 Novo

Had to queue for 5 hours at Ibrox ticket office and missed the game against Dundee!! Have season tickets, could hear it, could hear the crowd (50,000 bears - outstanding) but just had to pick up THAT ticket.
Manchester police have offered an open invitation to Rangers fans to enjoy the party! I don't think they realise what is coming!!
Will post the pics - if I can work it out.

Can't sell the ticket - wouldn't sell it to a fellow bear for more than I paid. But more chrome would be good now you mention it

Tetley's is a Yorkshire (Leeds) brew - Boddingtons is the cream of Manchester but hurry while stocks last!
Fair shout on the Manchester venue - could have been a touch better. Many of the fans are using Blackpool as their base. Weather here at the moment is fantastic - so we can imagine it is Milan, Madrid or Paris.

Almost all of them. It is always better at the source, but I enjoy a brew with flavor.

There is a little gas station around the corner from me that has an excellent selection of English beers. Boddingtons, Courage, Bass Ale, Theakstons Old Peculiar, John Smiths, to name a few.
But i have a very hard time finding Fullers over here. Occassionally i find some Fullers ESB, but i have yet to find some London Pride. When im over in the UK next week, i shall sup a few of them down.

Looks like they had a lot of trouble in Manchester. I hate that. A few morons ruining a good night, (albeit a dissapointing one) for the decent Rangers fans.
Hey BlueNose, you get home OK.

Cheers Lowey & Arsenalfan
Did not see any trouble - had a fantastic day a good 35,000 Rangers fans inside - outside well over 100,000. 50% of whom were drunk though. Many funny sights although one worth a mention is a guy (obviously worse for wear) having a conversation with a horse (no doubt discussing match tactics).
Must say they obviously underestimated the numbers. It Was total chaos in centre before I left for the match (45 mins walk - no wonder some of the Horse Whisperers didn't make it)!
The version I have had on the trouble was the Rangers fans reacted after having the dogs set on them. Probably a result of bad planning and way tooo much booze for way tooo many people.

No ****** !! I've passed a sea of Blue shirts on the way to work for the past 2 mornings at 7.50am just hanging around the streets....all of which had already started on the cans of lager....(the fans not the shirts!)..
But we're used to it in Blackpool.... we have "Scotch weekend" annually - yeah i know it probably 'should' be called 'Scottish' weekend...but hey ho..
oh btw.. didn't see any trouble in Blackpool! (they were all too ******.. )
sorry about the result...

Not one for a neutral I suppose. I thought the second half had plenty of action. Great experience though - the guy sat next to me had flown over from Atlanta and paid $2,000 for his ticket. Supporters clubs from all over the world represented except the Baghdad Loyal- they watched it in the British Embassy

Game was terrible Rangers tried similar tactics to those emplyed the whole way through the EUFA campaign. They should have started out with a more positive attacking formation Novo and Darcheville up front. A single striker will have no chance in those games. The long ball to Whittaker is predictable as well. Did Rangers not realise that Zenit would do some serious homework on how thay would play. Over all great to make the final but a bit more thought and they could have had the beeting of these guys. The crowd trouble absolutely disgusting some of the footage makes me amashed to say i support Rangers these people went to get drunk and had no self control or discipline. They are an utter disgrace they have not only shamed themeselves but all decent honest rangers supporters. I can only hope that the police use all the CCTV footage and bring these cretins to justiceand we should shame them further. Publish the pictures of these mindless morons in the Scottish press shame them. Theay should be shamed in front of there friends neighbours and colleagues. The police in the past have used CCTV to identify football hooligans and they should do so again. I am sick to death hearing all these civil liberty groups bleating on about the rights of these poor defenceless pieces of trash. Whet about the ordinary people who spent a lot of money to have a great day out ruined will they be copmensated by these thugs? Not a hope in ******. Rangers can expect a fine from EUFA for this will any of these arses be sued to allow the club to recover the costs. Will any of them be sued by the injured police. Will any of them be sued by the businesses that were vandalised. I am on my soap box so please excuse my ranting. A simple solution pick 12 names out of a hat of any that have been identified as being identified and whip them publicly and show it on TV if needed same as the Arabs do. Next time you can bet those 12 will be nowhere near trouble and a lot of other folk will think twice if they are to be punished if caught breaking the Law. Sorry guys I am just a wee bit hacked off just now.

I saw the footage last night and was pretty disgusted myself. It looked like 70's & 80's footage. Manc' city council have cancelled the big screens for the Champions League Final now too. Tis always the minority that spoil it for the majority though, even though the minority was a large minority I couldn't understand why they didn't just put screens up in Glasgow tbh. Bloody same were ever you watch it on TV.

It was a great shame that the EUFA Final would be tarnished by a few morons.
For the most part violence at football matches in the UK is all but a distant memory. But occassionaly it rears its ugly head.
As a kid my dad used to take me to the Arsenal. Always loved going with him, but there were certain games that he was very weary about taking me too. Arsenal v Tottenham games and Arsenal v Man Utd games in particular. I can remember a couple of episodes against Tottenham that were very scary. The worst being on a underground train on the way home. A gang of Tottenham fans were going from tube station to tude station, getting on the platform and then as the train would pull in they would throw lead wieghts, fire extinghishers and any other heavy object that they could throw through the train windows. I was at Covent Garden station when we got attacked. Scariest moment in my life.
Thank fully, for the most part, this is a thing of the past.
