Have had a small oil leak that I thought was the oil filter at first. Cleaned it up and watched closely for a couple of days. Determined to be the Neutral Switch. (bike has 20,656 miles). Went to Cal Moto and John said that it's common for these switches to seep through the switch. This switch is not shown in the factory repair manual but I guess can't be too complicated. Does anyone know if all the oil drains out of this hole when the switch is removed. I'll take a picture when it is out. Gary

The switch is in the bottom so I'm guessing yes to the oil question. It won't drain a lot since most is in the sump but you'll surely get more than you think, like maybe three or four tablespoons...a drain pan is going to handy when you pull the switch.

Ed, Thanks for the help. I'll report how it went when the part comes in. Its time for an oil change so I'll do both at the same time. Side note, my youngest son is a drummer with friends in the business (most notably Salvador Santana) and I am trying to get him to do the one year sound program down in Newport Beach where h is living. I think he would learn a lot even if he never works at it but he does a lot of recording with friends and a band he has worked with down there. I have a good friend who just retired and went back to Alabama and I hope to ride out there one of these days to visit. Anyway, thanks again. Gary

If I traced the correct wire it's underneath in the crankcase on the sprocket side of the oil filter.

Ed is correct its kind of burried up in the crank case near the oil filter. The part is about $30.00 along with a new crush washer at my dealer. i didn't look on Bike Bandit. I should get it in a few days and will provide all the details.

Okay, thanks...it looked like my leak was from the left side of the filter near the primary cover, but that could be cause it was on the kickstand and leaning that way.
definately keep me updated though cause im planning on fixing it myself if it is my neutral switch.
Thanks
