Took one of my floating holidays to go on a long ride. Went down 52 to brookville, down 1 to Lawrenceburg, hugged the Ohio river on 56 and 156 to Madison, went through 62 to 50, 101, and 229 making my way back to 52 near Rushville. Then made it back home to Indy. Sunny weather was perfect for driving along the Ohio. It was also my first time in that part of the state. Loved routs 52, 1, 56, 156, 62, and 229. 135 is still my favorite road of all time in the state. Still grinning but it's back to work tomorrow! So for any out there in Indiana what's your favorite slice of pavment. Or from the others in the states what's yours... oh what the hay I'm curious you in the UK can chime in too. you never know I may go there one day!

Ah since you want the best roads here is the list as compiled by UK bikers. Being Scots as well just makes it a bit sweeter.

The UK’s top ten bike vistas in order of popularity are:

Location - Road - Name - Region

1. Glen Coe - A82 - Highlands, Scotland
2. Bealach na Ba - (The Pass of the Cattle) Off the A696 - Highlands, Scotland
3. Heights of Kinlochewe / Glen Docherty - A832 - Highlands, Scotland
4. Horseshoe Pass - A542 - Wales
5. Clee Hill - A4117 - Shropshire
6. Cat & Fiddle Pass - A537 - Cheshire
7. Hartside Pass - A686 - Cumbria
8. Snake Pass - A57 - Peak District
9. North Yorks Moors/Pickering to Whitby - A169 - North Yorkshire
10. Hardknott/Wrynose Pass - Unclassified - Lake District

It’s official. Motorbike fans across the country have voted Scotland’s Glen Coe and the A82 as Britain’s favourite scenic biking route in a survey of over 1,500 bikers recently conducted by DVLA Personalised Registrations. Bealach na Ba, situated just off the A696, and the stunning surroundings of the Heights of Kinlochewe found along the A832, were noted as bikers’ second and third most popular routes, positioning Scotland as home to the nation’s top three bike vistas.

No doubt some of the other guys will have there own personal favourites. But hey we are all allowed our own opinions.

135 down to Nashville,In. then to Story,In. is still the best of So. Indiana. Its a good day ride if you can't get much time off from work. Sundays this time of year Nashville is always packed with bikes.
