Friday was a day that will live long in the memory for me and my tba!

Started well enough - sun shining - ride in the country - life does not get any better. I was on my way to have the little beauty serviced when all of a sudden she died! I was doing 70ish and at first a few little coughs then rapid loss of power then she died. I checked my oil - ok, fuel - warning light not illumiated but come to think of it I have done rather well on the last fill up. First things first - I got my self in a safe position and pushed the bike to safety. Organised the good lady to sort me out with some fuel. An hour later I was back on my way. The problem a blown fuse - note to self keep an eye on the mileage between fill-ups! (Note - I had to push the bike for a least a mile only one motorist stopped to help - a fellow motorcyclist on a Triumph).

Now for the nightmare - on my way home from the garage whilst negotiating a very tight left hander I was confrunted with a car (at speed) on my side of the road. I'm gonna die! I threw everything I had into it - lean, body over, back break only but all not enough down we went!!!

I am now lying in the middle of the road like a lame duck! I have both legs trapped under the bike unable to get the bike off me - anyone following me around the lefthander will hit me - I'm gonna die!

After a couple of attempt I managed to get the bike off me and over to the side of the road. The pricks in the car didn't stop and there were no witnesses.

The good news - I live!

The damage - spot light, engine bar, gear lever, stand, exhaust all slight damage. fortunately as the bike was on top of me I took most of the hit. Waking a bit funny at the moment.

I was looking forward to a little trip out to Dent on Sunday but been busy fixing things.

All-in-all a bad day at the office.

What an understatement! Glad you are okay and just slight damage to the Bonnie.

Glad you're not hurt, Ivan. Yep, I can imagine you've had better days than this, alright!

(and like Mark said above...I too think your "dues" are paid up in full for awhile, dude)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Glad no serious damage to you or your bike. Wendy and I had the same situation a week or 2 ago. We were just lucky enough to not have to go down, we had enough room to go around.

Bad news Ivan, not a great deal of damage by the sound of it, but enough to make you feel sick.. At least you walked away from it.

Cheers guys!!

We are fixed up and back in the saddle - couple of great rides !

Amazingly sadlebags (no damage) and engine bars (slight damage) and my butt saved the bike - so feeing kinda lucky in a way (looking on the bright side and all that).

Would like to get hold of the pricks in the car. They may not have seen me go down (speed and bend) but could have been a whole lot worse.

Keep safe all
