So I went down to Belleville, IL to get my 500 mile checkup/oil change. I thought I had the petcock on ON, but I relized after passing an exit on the interstate that when I switched over - I had actually had it on RESERVE the whole time! Had to push to the gas station (less than 1 mile). Got 141 miles before I was bone dry. I was riding about 80 miles at about 75 mph with crazy wind and about 40 miles at 60 mph. I only averaged 33 MPG! I have the long slash TOR pipes, and they rejetted for me for it to run right. BAD mpg. I also rode a scrambler - FUN BIKE. Not a ton of power, but enough to have fun with - great riding position and style, and just fun!

I wish I knew - I forgot to ask when they did all of it when I got the bike. Would I need to rejet if I took the snorkle out? Would it help the mileage? Thanks

JS, I will be spending most of my summer at Scott AFB, maybe get together for a ride sometime since it sounds like you're close to there.

If I run at 75, 80 MPH I'll get about 32 MPG. If I'm running 65 I'll get 40 MPH. Seems funny that 10 miles per hour could make that much of a difference. I first noticed this when I would ride with a group, who usually would ride the speed limit. When I'm by myself, I will usually push it.

I found out that it's all about the 0-60 time. Bang through the gears and get to 60 as fast as you can- 30ish mpg. Take 3 times as long to hit 60- low to mid 40's mpg. Cruising speed was 70-80mph. Amazing to me, I could do 80 on a quarter throttle. Took almost a mile to get up there though.
