I mentioned dog tags many moons ago.
Some time ago, I had a set made up with my ICE number (In Case of Emergency), allergy details etc which I either wear or have in my riding jacket pocket.

Welllll, I just ordered myself and Wendy (Wenster) one of these each ... no NOT Suzi Perry!!

Well, they arrived today and I just imported my details onto mine.

Pretty good and a clever idea.
Not the best quality in the world but for the price, I can't really complain.

You can order a second tag that can be one of many different logos etc ... you just KNOW we had Triumph ones.

Just one point, the chain is a bit short for getting over my big melon.

Who else carries their emergency details with them when they ride?

I'm bad about wearing stuff around my neck. Make me crazier than I aalready am! However, I wear a Medic Alert bracelet as I'm deathly alergic to penicillin and I used to print my blood type on the back of my helmet. I figure they can track down somebody from my diver's license - but I live thousands of miles away from family.

That is a pretty good idea. I wonder if they ship to the U.S.

I have a big DNR tattoo on my chest lol.. No but serious folks..

This is a great idea,, and I can see it working in the hospital, if it makes it there..

My only advise is put a big star of life on it. SO us dumb EMS folks know it is medical info.. Cause let me tell ya,, if your knocked out, first thing I am gonna do as a medic when i get on scene is open a air way, check for a pulse, and cut your clothes off to look for injuries. If that thing is keeping me for exposing you,, it is cut also.. I know first hand trauma shears will not cut dog tag chain..

Just some FYI guys.. Also,, we are trained ot look for medical alert tags,, lots of pendants look like them, so make sure it has a pronounced star of life on it.. Or you run the risk of it being missed.

Question for ya. I have a medical alert marking on my drivers license, as well as donor status.(probably a good thing, as I don't wear a helmet often, nuts) Are ya gonna check those in time?

This might be a cheaper route: http://www.roadid.com/common/id.aspx

Plus, there's no electronic wizardry to fool with.

[edit]: Did a little more reading... RoadID has an "interactive" version. You can keep updated info online, and the first responder calls a number on the ID (with PIN) and gets the up to date info about you.

in a word Arsteren,, I dont not check wallets,, usualy the cops do, if we know your a organ donor, we notify the ER as soon as we find out,, even if you have injures not compatable with life, we still work you.. Keeping blood flow to vital organs is the key here..

But ot answer your question,, i have never looked in a patients wallett,, Just one more thing I can be accused of loosing.. I would have ot say the most sure fire way of not having to worry about if they dog tags work or not,, is not to crash. But being on a bike seems to make that not happen
