My wife and I have owned a 2000 Toyota Sienna Van for the last 8 years. It has been an extremly reliable van with an excellent and smooth ride. When we were shopping for a vechile she wanted a 4-Runner but at the time the dealership didn't want to come down on the price. We got a far better deal on the Sienna and I had to talk her to my point of view. After a few weeks she told me that it did have a bettter ride and she was glad that I talked her out of the 4-Runner. To tell the truth I did perfer the 4-Runner but I went for the better deal since it was her vechile and not mine. hehe At 100,000 miles I had the timing belt replace along with the water pump and everything else that came with the timing belt replacement package. The Sienna gave us over 150,000 worry free miles. Unfortunately now I can attest for the crash worthiness of the Sienna. A couple of weeks ago my wife was involved in a headon crash. It is remarkable that she is alive and without any serious injuries. Her injuries were mostly bruises but no broken bones or lacerations. She did spend a couple of days in the hospital and has been recovering slowly. Her biggest complaint is where the seat belt went across her chest is still sore. The whole front end and quarter pannels were pushed in to the bottom of the windshield. On the inside drivers and passanger side there was very little intrusion. Maybe the only thing that concerns me about the crash is that one of the rear seats broke free from its mounts. No telling what may have happened if one of my grandkids or someone else was in that seat. As you may know the rear seats are removable so I do not know it that was a factor. My insurance company is being fairly reasonable givings us $7,500. To me it seems like a fair price for an eight year old van with the millage it has. I would like to get another Sienna but not sure should I go the used route or maybe get a new one. The monthly note is not something that I would like to take on now so I will have to wait and see. If anyone out there is thinking of getting a van I highly recommend the Toyota Sienna.

Dennis, I'm glad to know she is alright.
