Imagine my concern when riding my new 07 America down the road at about 45 mph and I suddenly hear a loud metal vibration every time I accelerate. And it sounded like it was coming from just forward and below the seat. I thought I surely had some type of motor problem when I remembered something. They had recently installed the freak kit on my bike and I hadn't been overly impressed with the knurled screw that holds the strap over the tool kit. I pulled over, removed the side cover and the screw that holds the metal strap was about to come out. I sure was relieved. I thought for sure I was going to be making a trip to the shop with an engine or drive problem. I will have to come up with a better method to hold that strap in place.

I had that screw come all the way out and the bar dropped off. I thought I lost something important. The tool box stays in there without it.

You won't find a tool kit on a stock Speedy. You need to purchase an airbox removal kit commonly called the Freak kit

http://www.newspeedmaster.com/html/airbox_removal_kit.html

Tool box is included.... but not the tools

Here's my solution. I put my battery where the tool kit goes. Then I chucked the tool kit and that silly bolt in the trash.

Sure you will. It's behind the cover at the ignition switch.

It's amzing howmuch stuff you can do with that single allen wrench. You can almost tear apart the entire bike.
