O-Tay people, Just got a set of used septor pipes from a guy on here, put em on my 07 america last week, she seems to run just fine but when I checked out the septor site I learned they come with new jets for your carbs. I'll riden perhaps 100 miles and she seems happy. Am I doin any damage to my pony and should I think about having her rejetted?

Rejetting will give you the performance gain. It's not hard, just follow the tutorial on the Dinqua site.

I definately reccomend you do change out jets. The bike may seem to be fine now, but wait until its real warm. There are a few things to go wrong-bad backfiring on decel, not enough fuel to keep her cooled down enough to save the valves, fouling plugs, lots of little things to lead to bigger problems. And such a new bike at that; rejetting is easy, +1 on the Dinqua site and you'll be fine. Do it over a six pack, that seemed to help me out! Good luck, ride safe!

Best looking black girl around! 2004 SM-spokes, solo seat, lowered rear, 14 in apes, bobber rear fender, no front fender. Flat black all the way around. Jeff

Re-jet for sure, you are running lean now to be sure , as I have said before, a lean engine will run like a scalded ape until the damage is done. If you still have the stock air box it won't be as lean as if you had pods or a modified air box but it will still be lean. Get Dinquas jetting calculator and use that for a starting point (tends to be rich from what I have seen but not by much) I would go to a 45 pilot and then what ever main you need for your set up.
