Sunday what a day sun was shining real nice day. Do all the silly jobs round the house and get the bike out. What a day so warm you could feel the warmth through your leathers. rode for about an hour or so lovely roads just need to be careful tha car drivers have forgotten about bikes over the winter months.
Stop for a brew and ciggie at a T stop, park the bike up next to my mates bikes. Watching the world go by having the usual chat slagging each other laughing and joking.
A friend looks over to the bikes and says that woman driving that 4x4 is really making a meal out of parking....(you can roughly see where this heading) she gets closer and closer to the bikes ...mainly my bike .... I start running and shouting. That was pointless she reversed into the bike she crushed my bike the dim blind intellectual pygmy reversed into my bike.
The bars are crushed the tank is dented the headlamp is gone the whole front end looks like the jolly green giant stepped on it.....
She sat in the car looking horrified and refused to come out. Her husband decided that we shouldnt have been parked all in a row and that I should have left my bike elsewhere. Honestly I could have killed him becuase of his attitude.
Got all the details and arranged for a van to come and collect my beautiful bike. I sat all the way home some times in tears and other times in pure rage. my bike isin the garage now waiting on the outcome of the engineers report and then the Insurance company will have there say on the bike.
I have crashed other bikes broken bits off other bikes. I have never felt so bad as I do just now. I am away for another wee greet to myself...

I know the rage of someone else making a hash of something and the bike bearing the brunt of their idiocy...... I could have killed. And I'm not violent. Hope you get a result and really soon...

And I hope you are still coming on the weekend...even if you have to drive. And I agree with Bluenose.....sounds like a fiancial writeoff. The 03 was, so take it positively and you could end up with two...or you can do loads more to it. If you are lucky with buying it back then you'll get nothing on it's records. I spoke to the DVLA about the 03 and there's nothing on their records about her being written off.... Even you want a new one and can't bear to ride it again, buy t back and part it out....I know there will be several people looking for bits from it. If you ebay the engine you'd more than likely get what you paid for the salvage...
Don't get me wrong, I hope it can be repaired. I know how attached we get to them and that's why I couldn't bear to see the 03 go.

The Husbands attitude is just so typical of the 4X4 drivers in the UK ... Sorry to hear about the bike ... hope that you can get it sorted soon without too much hassle from the insurance companies

My condolences. I suffered through a similar situation with my ’68. It all worked out in the end though!

Sorry to hear about that mate.
The urge would be to start dismantling the 4x4 and occupants as soon as it happened.
Hope your insurance company gets you sorted out soon.

Congrats on maintaining a civil attitude. The good thing is you didn't get hurt and aren't in jail on Assult charges. Same kind of atitude from the guy who backed into me last month.... Hope the insurance works to your advantage. later, Tom
But, what do I know?

Wow man, really sorry to hear your luck. I hope you get a favorable outcome and get the bike fixed and a few bucks in your pocket when done. Have idiots like that all over the place here where I lived. If some clown started telling me my bike got run over because it shouldn't be parked where it was the van would have been coming to collect him!

What?!! What a nobhead!! I agree, you showed amazing restraint. Makes my blood boil that sort of attitude, fairly typical of most the 4x4 drivers of the non farming community I've found, ie probably those who don't need them anyways... Hope you can still manage to make it to Dent mate

+1 on this, and would have explained it away that he must've gotten hurt in the accident--tired of these d!(% head responses from cage drivers

Thanks for the kind words guys. I did call the police though the police asked if any body was injured and since nobody was they didnt want to know. So they appeared spoke to the driver and to myself and handed me a producer. She was terrified becuse I am the smallest of our group and some of the laddies are well over 6 foot and wearing leathers just seems to make them appear even bigger. Being similar to all the guys on the forum they were none to quiet in voicing there displeasure. I was more worried about checking my bike to take in much of what was said.
I wanted to kick the husbands head in truth be told but then it would have been a lost cause. Bikers get the blame for alot of bad stuff that they are not really involved in. it might have given the insurance company a way out if I had smacked the husband.
I visisted the garage this morning and spoke to the guys all of whom I know well. They are confident bike will be back on the road in a couple of weeks. They have write off sitting in bits which was rear ended and they think they can get most if not all the parts they need from that.
Its just down to getting a respray on the tank but once again I have a relation who is works as a panel beater.
Insurance wise I need to wait for the loss adjuster to go out and have a look and see what price he puts on the damage.
In the meantime if any body sees a dark blue range rover carrying the imprint of a size 10 german para boot on the driver door (my parting gift) being driven by a small woman who can hardly see over the steering wheel be very careful.

Don't know what the laws are there or what a producer is but I would have demanded they make a police report with witness statements so I had if needed. I wouldn't tell the ins. guy you have access to used parts and let him write you for new then use the 2nd hand parts and pocket the difference.

Hi Ian a producer is form that says you will take your documents to a police station within a given period of time. The fact that a producer has been issued is also a record of you reporting the issue. Once you take your documents to a police station you are supplied with a crime number that can be used in insurance claims.
As for the parts the guys have already told me to say nothing to the insurance company on the understanding that they will supply the parts for a much lower price as long as they are getting the work. I know all the guys and they will do a good job for me. So hopefully I will end up with a few quid in my pocket.
