I have done a lot of searches on the subject of all the different after market pipes and I have boiled it down to Scepters or Tunderbike. I like the Scepters since they are stainless, cheaper, and come with the mounting equipment, but I am concerned about how loud they might be. Has anybody used them with the optional baffle and if so, how does their sound compare with the Thunderbike pipes?

As they are out of the box they are LOUD, but sound incredible. The 1 inch baffles they sell work great (too great really). It completely kills the sound. If you get the pipes and think they are too loud get the 1.5 inch baffles. I wish did.....
Learning from my mistakes... again and again.

I am in the same situation as you with relation to choice and at the moment prefer to go with Scepters for the same reasons as you but mostly cos there stainless. I do think though that you will need one of the two baffles. Interesting to see what others think. Good luck and let us know which you go for and what they are like.

my son and son inlaw both have sceptres without the baffles and the bark is just a little sharper than my gutted stock pipes on light to moderate throttle but thats where it stops. A buddy of mine with sceptres, 904 kit and freak needed the 1.5 inch baffles and was still louder than the boy's bikes.

I have the Scepters and the 1.5 baffles. I ran the baffles about 50 miles and pulled them out. I prefer the Scepters just the way they came. But I like Loud and Aggresive!!

I have the scepters w/o baffles. At first when I got the bike I thought they were too loud. I had a buddy drive up and down the road so I could hear what they sounded like, and loved it, and have now gotten used to it, so bad that I'm addicted to the sound. This bike would loose it's whole personality w/o these pipes. Nothing else sounds like this triumph where I live, maybe cause I'm the only one who has one. yipppppeeee
