full choke, if I try to give it any throttle at all, it dies, also the gas is 8 months old, could it have gone bad?

how long do you let it warm up before giving it gas? and you dont give it gas when the choke is on do you? which jets did you change and did you mess with the air screw. with the ethonal in the gas i would not be surprised it if was a little bad

Drain your tank and carbs. Use fresh gas and some SeaFoam Motor Treatment in the tank.

I changed the gas to fresh gas, and it still doesn't want to run unless I have it fully choked, I let it warm up sufficiently but it still dies when I give it throttle. I think the bad gas has internally effected the carbs, I only replaced the jets with the 155's I used to have in it, took them out 8 months ago after the bike got in an accident to put them in a new bike. I am trying to re-build this bike, check out the Bob Job post in the general forum.

You're probably the victim of the "winter varnish" effect, residue left in the pilot circuit from sitting up. Sounds like a go at cleaning the carbs with some carb cleaner is in order. Did you change the pilots when you freaked?

go here http://www.dinqua.com/ for great info on jetting. Also sounds to me like varnish in bypass section, a good carb cleaning sounds in order. It may be wise to go ahead and remove them and have them dipped (professional cleaning), as this is usually much more thorough.

Installed 45 Pilot jets, problem solved, the old one's were clogged up, this baby is purring now, I have to completely re-assemble (got the new rear wheel and tire on) they were damaged in the accident, and take it for a test spin, I hope it tracks down the road straight! Its been 8 months since I have ridden it.................
