Ladies and Gents,
All of thoese of you that were wanting to come to the UK and hire a bike....... Then after 1st May... your luck is in.
This is advance warning of a PROPERLY set up company based near YORK. They have just purchased a few new Triumph (across the range) motorcycles.
There card shows that they are going to have available Triumph/ Suzuki/ Harley and BMW.
I emphasise the properly set up bit because I am lead to beleive they have done there homework and have put LOTS of effort in to setting up the business, inluding types of bike, insurance options, clothing, collection and delivery, .
Their site is not available until 1st May but as soon as I have the "nod" I will post the full contact details including Phone no's.
Cheers, Mike

Ray, Well you just never know????
good way to try something different long term and what about a long tour so as to keep the mileage down on your pride and joy. See you a week on Saturday.

FT, not directly!! are you up to Dent? I'm riding in with Dave on the Sat afternoon.

Only in an advisory / test rider capacity, eh?

Not for the camping.
I was considering a trip to see some faces I hadn't seen in a while but it's looking unlikely, to be honest.
99% certain I won't be there at all.

Just curious I have no plans to visit the UK anytime soon. But what kind of ducumentation would a visiting Yank need to rent a bike over there?

I'd guess the same as we need to rent bikes in the US, passport and driver's license usually.

They will probably also want details of where you're staying (hotel for example).

It's the cost will be the kick in the nads though.
Take the US $ rental and deposit rates and change it for a £ .... that makes it roughly double what you guys would pay in the US.
Twice the cost and a crap exchange rate for US visitors - ouch!!
A guy would REALLY want to ride eh?

Motorcycle rentals are way too pricey no matter where you rent 'em.
