Ah man what a difference from them TOR's, I haven't even touched the baffle yet but so far so good I do like them.. I will attempt to do the jets this weekend but I did the AI removal and think I got it right except one thing,,,,,

the black plastic plug that plugs the air box wouldn't fit in the hole so I put the big hose back in and cut it back about an inch and plugged that instead--> should this be fine?..

also did a UNI filter but didn't know I needed oil with it but installed it anyway for now and I'll spary it with filter oil soon but I think it all went well.. now waiting for the bars and then I'll order a few more things.. thank you to all who helped me out..

as far as the jets I get a small hiccup every now and then but not all the time when I come off the gas which means I should defenitely do the jets too right?

Definitely re-jet. Use Pat's jet calculator to get close, then you can probably tweak the air screws to get it just right. You've opened up both the exhaust and intake now, so it's crucial. I think your airbox will be fine as long as that plug is tight.

rejet for sure but you shouldn't be crazy lean since you still have the stock air box.

Plugging the hose accomplishes the same as putting the plug in the air box. All you are doing there is preventing dirt from getting in there.

If you are talking about removing baffles from the TORs might want to rethink that, they don't lend themselves to easy gutting like the stockers.

Ted, I'd ride awhile before making any changes to the SS baffles. They do get louder as they settle in. I think the SS jet kit is 130/45s. This should be close if you've removed the snorkel and put the UNI in. You probably need to check and reset the carb screws (air/fuel) for optimum with your new set up. With the larger pilot jets, you may only need to be 1.5-2.5 turns out.

BTW, the guys at Bella Corse suggest using the UNI without oil. I decided that lightly oiled is probably best. I just spray the oil all on the inside and push (spread) it around with my fingers.

not sure what size jets did come but they are the ones that came with the SS pipes.. I have not done anything to the airbox except the AI kit but I want to do a elimination mod or the freak to it,,,, you guys say I should have to again re-jet after that right, if so what size jets do you think I should do at that point?

also this is not exhaust related but I want to move the front blinkers and get the re-location kit to put them on the forks,, if i get that do I need to remove the fork shrouds or does the clamp bolt over the shroud itself?

Many have done some signal relocations, there are kits out there and roll-your-own, do a quick search, and if you still don't find what you want, maybe post in misc tech. I bet you'll get a ton of suggestions.

Ted, the jets that come with the SS are probably a bit on the rich side if you leave the airbox completely stock. Before you spend money on anything else, remove the snorkel and try a UNI filter. Opening up the intake even that much will make a big difference now that you have less restrictive pipes and larger jets. Most of SS dyno tests were done with the jet kit they send, UNI filter and no snorkel. I would try this first and adjust the pilot screws BEFORE making any major airbox mod. It takes less than 5 minutes and only cost about $30. for the filter.

Bob,, I'm a newb and not sure what the snorkel is,,, or I'm guessing its the rubber throat thing that comes out of the airbox cover that is over the filter but under the seat?

Ted, as stated above, you just pull it out. Squeeze it at the bottom and it will come right out. You have to unscrew the cover the snorkel fits in to get to the filter. The UNI is just a drop in replacement for the stock one. You can use it lightly oiled or even not oiled at all.

thanks guys for that advice I'm headed down to my parking lot to rip that sucka out right now,,, I think I did mention it but I did put the UNI filter in and did not spray it with oil..

when I ordered the pipes Dale from S.S. said to bring the mixture screw out to 3 1/2 turns and then creep it out a 1/4 turn each time to fine tune, but how do I "fine tune" what am I listening for?

my bike seems to run pretty mint now except for that one loud POP when I hit the start button..

I just forgot to order the spray oil so i usut put it in anyway,, I'll spray it soon but speaking of that what do you clean the oil off with?
