Have an 06 America with 8000 miles. Took front resevoir cover off to add fluid. Had some slight seepage. Removed and secured. Still slight seepage. Do I need a new diaphragm? Anyone experience this?

I had some seepage on my '02 last year with the factory Triumph chrome cover.

Did you do anything, or is it no big deal?

Oh, I think it's a big deal. The fluid level will eventually run low and then let air into the system, reducing your brake performance. Spongy.

I put the stock cover back on. Last time I ordered from BikeBandit.com I threw a new reservoir seal/diaphragm into the order, just in case. Haven't used it yet, but haven't ridden my bike much since I put the stock cover back on.

i have just upgraded my America to speedy wheels and brakes. After bleeding the brakes and trying to put the cover on the first time I noticed that the diaphram seemed to "pull in" around the screw holes. It took me a few tries and small flat screwdriver to get everything lined up just right. You may have gotten it in wrong on accident. I suggest taking the cap off and double checking it for a pinch mark or wrinkle near the screw holes. and be extra careful putting it back on. Or it could be as simple as a little brake fluid spilled on the wrong side of the diaphram? I hope this helps.

Where did it seep?

Mine seeps slightly around the screws whenever I remove/reinstall the cover. A wipe or two and it's all ok. You just want to snug those screws evenly, don't go cranking on them....

Sometimes they won't reseal after they've been removed.. it happens occasionally. Replace the diaphragm and you'll be good to go.

Sometimes it's just a small amount of fluid that is in the sealing area that gets squeezed out as the cap is tightened too.

Fella's, my 07 America is having the same problem and it just started about 300 miles ago. I noticed my fluid level had gotten low and then I noticed it has seeped out the front (toward the gas tank of the bike). I then opened and refilled it only to my dismay that it leaked most of it out again! I am under the impression seeing the numerous problems that have been happending perhaps Triumph has an issue that needs addressed. I am taking my bike to the dealer tomorrow for a look see. I'll keep ya posted.

I had a similar problem with my Bonnie but a shiny new chrome Triumph cover fixed me right up. And, you might check and insure that the cover lip, the edge of the reservoir and the edge of the rubber diaphragm are completely dry before you cinch it up

Chy,
I picked your post for as good a place as any for my update to the resevior question. I have had my bike to the dealer and he knock an excess amount of powder coat off the edges which were sharp to the touch. Installed a new gasket and I took the bike home. Over the course of an hour the resevior almost completely emptied on my garage floor with a spot about 6 inches in diameter. Through the night the remaining fluid leaked out and now has stained my front cruiser board bracket. After speaking with said dealer again he is now replacing the master cylinder under warranty as well as the mounting bracket due to the staining of the paint.

Dealer explained I am his 7th customer to complain of the problem. You guys under warranty might want to keep that in mind?

*UPDATE*
New master cylinder onboard with no leaks, no drips, no errors! WaaHoooooo! "On the road again!"
