Well guys I know a lot of you are going to be jealous because me and my BA are going to get a lot of riding in this year as I have just sold my business and retired. After in excess of 35 years in the construction industry I think I will find it strange to just jump on Bonny when ever I like and ENJOY. Some are saying you won't know what to do with yourself others are saying you won't have enough hours in the day. An opinions guys

Congratulations.

Get maps ... lots of maps!
The rest will come automatically.

Don't ask me how I know (although far from retired).

Yes, yes, yes! I'm about two more years behind you, And don't listen to those that say "you won't know what to do with yourself". I'm REALLY looking fwd. to retirement. Gonna ride the bike, make trips back & forth to Florida to visit friends and my son (the Harley rider), work on the projects that I don't have the time to do now.

It's all in how ya feel. I envy you my friend. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

Congrats Roger. Don't listen to those who would tell you that you're bound to get bored! Nope! Don't listen to 'em!

I too retired last year and know firsthand there are plenty of things you can do, now that you're retired.

IN FACT, I've got a short list a things I NOW DO to while away all this spare time of mine which I'll share with you, dude....
_____________

(1)-Countin' flowers on the wall, that don't bother me at all.

(2)-Playin' solitaire 'til dawn, with a deck of 51

(3)-Smokin' cigarettes and watchin' Captain Kangaroo

(now don't tell me, there's nothin' to do!!!)

Am reading a book called "Get a life, you dont need a million to retire well". Has some great advice on how to make retirement more enjoyable. Its not financial advice, its about getting your health right and how to develop interests prior to retirement. Its really good.

Yup, that's what I was thinking when I retired near 2 years back. Since then, I've hauled some 8 tons of hay and grain in the truck, looked after horses and dogs and cats, been rained and snowed on, been blown across the garden by 60 MPH winds, fixed broken house doors and garage doors, mowed and plowed fields, etc etc. Oh, I also managed to ride maybe 2500 miles.
I am seriously thinking of going back to work just so I'll be able to ride every nice day.

Don't believe that you will be bored! As a friend of mine used to say, Huhhh... by momma says that boring is as boring does... Huhhh.....
Any body with a lick of imagination can find something to do in this country when they're retired. Good luck to ya and enjoy!!!
