That was just for lack of a better word (napalm)Friday afternoon I uncovered my bike at work and there was a small puddle of what smelled like gasoline but was somewhat jelly like under my tank vent hose, with a whitish gel hanging from the end of the hose. I assume it was a mixture of road grime/water ( very foggy on the way to work ) and fuel vapors. The reason it puzzles me so is it has never happened before. I was using a coworkers cover on my bike at work until Friday evening, he has been moved to a different station and was taking the cover w/ him over there, (we were on opposite shifts) anyway, it was mainly on the bike to keep evening dew off of it, it had been a very sunny day. I guess my question is, does anyone have an opinion on this issue? I was thinking that since it was such a nice day (sunny and about 80) with the black cover over the bike, did it put off excessive vapor that then combined w/ water left in the tube from the ride in?

Do you have the stock airbox on your bike?
If so, there are a couple of drain hoses that come off the back of it. Mine dripped from time to time when I over-oiled my uni filter.

A combination of road grime, water spray and condensed fuel vapor sound about right...the heated tank's fuel vapor cleared your hose from winter's condensation.
