What is the small brass allen screw on the side of the carbs?

At the bottom it is a float bowl drain hook a hose up to the nozzle behind it to drain the bowls

You can also put a piece of clear plastic tube on the drain nipple and hold it up along side the carb. When you open that drain the tube will fill with gas and indicate float level.

Thats not my trick, cowtipper clued me into it. I used to always pull the carbs and measure the floats. The clear tube is in one of the manuals too I can't remember what on it was though.
