Hello....I'm considering buying a set of these Saddlebags, since the mounts seem to be made specifically for the Speedmaster..a rather rare find. Any one have experience with this brand or opinions as to why they aren't a good choice? Don http://ussaddlebag.com/triumph_saddlebags.html

Nice looking bags, but I went with ez brackets because I didn't want all the extra hardware on my bike when the bags are off.

looking at the bags, the leading edge, seems to me that loads of rain will enter. That is there is no 'flap' to roll the rain down and away from the top forward opening.

got them, love them! I got the smaller size because i didn't want them to overwhelme the bike. I think they look great. The instalation wasn't quite as easy as they said but I think it had more to do with the fact that i have a triumph sissy bar and the alignment of the assemby bolts became a little more difficult than suggested. I had to install all bolts only hand tight and had to move things around a little bit in order to get everything started and then I was able to tighten everything up and it worked well. Also when you try to put the bags on the mounts it was alot harder than the video shows only because everything is new and stiff. Be prepared to struggle taking them on and off until everything is worked in and loosened up.

Hi Merle...Do you have any problem with rain getting into the interior of the bag? Are the bags stiff enough to hold their shape? And what about the quality of craftsmanship....how's the stitching? Did you get their Tank Cover as well? Which style of bag did you pick? Thanks. Don

EZ Brackets solved that issue by offering their product in versions both for the L brackets in place or not.
+1 on the rain question.

Don. The craftsmanship is excellent in every way. I did purchase the tank cover as well and like how it looks on the bike. As far as style I have a black speedy and wanted to stay with that look so I purchased the black aligator flame on black and I love it. I haven't riden in any kind of driving rain as of yet so I can't answer completely about that issue as of yet, but when you look at how the zippers under the flap close the storage compartment I have got to believe if there is any leakage it is going to be very minimal. As far as comparing these to the hard bags hey if you want that look go for it plus I was done with my install even with minor trouble in 30 min. and I don't think anybody can claim that with the hard bags.

Hi John...yea, it's a tough call which way to go. I saw the Tsukaya bags in Daytona a few weeks ago. Quality was marginal as some of the lids did not mate up too well with the cases. Sort of the luck of the draw as to what fit I might get if I order some. I'll be leaving whatever bags on all the time, so that argument is a draw. Being new to the Speedmaster, not quite sure what look I'll be most pleased with. From comments I've read around here, I do know it'll lean more to the Geezer style. Don

I have a set of saddlemen bags I picked up here used, I bought them for the ezbrackets that came with them. I'm not impressed with the bags(but I don't know how old they are either) - but the price was right and I'll probably replace them sometime this year.
I also have a set of river road bags that are decent for the price I paid. Had the triumph square bags- hated them.

Stewart...same goes for the new large Triumph bags. I saw them last week at Detroit Triumph. Boxy, throw over strap, flimsy....probably won't hold their shape long. Not worth $500's. Don

Thanks for the great photo's Roger. Bags do look good on your bike. Probably easier to look after than Leather and a good price as well. Did you get the Easy Brackets from the same company or from Brent's. Thanks for your help. Decisions/Decisions!! Don
PS...Which lay down license plate holder is that ...looks good. ....Do you ever wish yo had bought the extra large bags instead?

Don, got easy brackets here-- Fast Eddy After chopping my fender, got tail light here-- Licks Being a "geezer" now, i travel light, the large bags will clear stock tail light set up--not sure about extra large. Had leather bags before, prefer these, they hold their form well. With easy brackets, bike retains a clean look when bags are off-- Good luck with your choice,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I had a set of those black flame jobs on my bike for a while. My only complaint was that the straps (held down with velcro) would always start flapping above 75 MPH.Very little issues with water getting in them except during driving rain or monsoons. They actually saved me a lot of skin when I laid it down and slid into the rear bumper of a Dodge pickup! They survived with only blown out stitches and minor scuffing on the bottom edge. Now I have the leather covered hardbags that Brent sells. I love the look, but they are not the highest quality that i've ever seen.
