I am considering buying a windscreen( thats what our friends across the big pond call it)anyhoo i am considering either the dart by new speedmaster or the more expensive version(of course from triumph)they are the lower cut versions.Does anyone have any input as to whether it actually cuts a good portion of the wind, flys whatever.I have seen several on the sight and they dont actually look to bad.I am mostly on the open road not to muchh city running.Anyways any input from you fine folks would be appreciated.thanks Northern mac/07 speedmaster/clearin the moose off the highway one at a time.

Mac, I've got the Triumph Fly Screen with chrome trim. It keeps some wind off of my chest, does nothing for head buffeting. The Dart looks a little taller but can't comment on it. I bought the Triumph one so I would have a place to mount my front turn signals.

There's a lot of threads you can search in the forum about windshields. The Triumph Summer Screen and Roadster Screen tend to cause a lot of head buffeting for tall riders. The Summer Screen more than the Roadster.
I bought the Summer Screen. I'm slightly over 6' tall and the buffeted wind hitting my helmet was extremely annoying especially on the highway. I replaced it with a Clearview Shield replacement that is taller but still looks sporty. I absolutely love it and never take it off.

Hey John, what size do you have and how tall are you? I like the fact that those can mount to the roadster hardware and go bigger than stock.

I 2nd Friar John. Windvest is the most impressive windshield I've ever had. It'll keep the wind off your chest and eleminates head buffeting. Very well made. Yep it's kinda expensive, but I'd buy another one in a heart beat.
Didn't buy into the hype, you can keep the change.

I'll have to check when I get home. I think it's the 14" and I'm about 5'8.5". It won't mount to the roadster hardware that I am aware of. It mounts to the handlebars.

Do you have pics? It seems that the the windvest is the one that completely satisfies but I can't stand the look of it. It looks to me like someone suspended a gravestone above the bars. There must be something to the science that makes it work but the look doesn't work for me.

I had pics of my Clearview Screen (Summer Screen mount) in the photo section. Not sure how to post pics anymore, but here's a link to the Clearview site. The Mulberry/Graphite America in the pictures is my bike. Their windshield is very high quality and the light gray tint makes it almost invisible. I think it looks better than the Triumph Summer Screen. They also have Roaster replacements - look around the site: Clearview Shields

I measured it last night and it's roughly 14x14"
