I am getting alot of "I never thought of that" ideas from everyone. I appreciate it all.

My next thing....I ordered a Triumph Tach for my America through the dealership and when it arrived they installed it for me.....no charge.

Anyway, it worked fine for a week or so, but now it's off about 2500 (+ or - a couple of hundred)rpm. The reason I know that is when the engine is off, the tach reads about 2000 rpm. When the bike is running, the tach is working (the needle is responding to the throttle appropriately....my opinion anyway)All the connections seem to be tight.

Is there an adjustment I can make? or is there something I may be missing???

Thanks Again All....

Go back to the dealership, it's still new and they should straighten it out for you.

I agree with Ed, Take it back and get one that works correctly. I know mine and Wendys both sit on 0 when bike isn't running.

Just a quick update. Took my bike in to the dealership and they dropped everything and replaced the tach in 10 - 15 minutes. Great service.

Regards
