Ok.. Ive got 160 mains, 42 pilots (had 40s) and 1 shim (freaked with short open pipes)got it all back together shes runs down the road great (no more flat spots and no more popping on decel)but idle is fluxuating a bit. When i come to a stop light its idleing high crack the thottle and she comes back down but then sometimes will start to go back up sometimes not.
What should it be idleing at anyway?
Not real sure where the air mix screws should be either
Any suggestions

- Check the simple things first. Verify there are no vacuum leaks, squirrel condoms tight and in place, carb clamps are tight and manifold rubbers not cut because it sounds like you have a small vacuum leak.
- Idle adjustment is where you want it. Start at 1200 rpm.
- Idle mixture screws are usually set from 1.5 turns out to 3 and above. I typically adjust them both in small increments until I get the best idle with the least popping.
- Balance your carbs. With all the changes you made, this has to be done.
- Lastly you might want to verify your throttle cables are not a bit too tight or binding.
