- Check the simple things first. Verify there are no vacuum leaks, squirrel condoms tight and in place, carb clamps are tight and manifold rubbers not cut because it sounds like you have a small vacuum leak.
- Idle adjustment is where you want it. Start at 1200 rpm.
- Idle mixture screws are usually set from 1.5 turns out to 3 and above. I typically adjust them both in small increments until I get the best idle with the least popping.
- Balance your carbs. With all the changes you made, this has to be done.
- Lastly you might want to verify your throttle cables are not a bit too tight or binding.
