Do the carb heaters run all the time? Are the two plugs on the bottom of the carbs towards the front the power lines for that? If so can I disconnect them and allow the colder air to flow through?
Just a thought colder air in cooler running engine. Just interested in how it works cuz I've got no clue

There's a thermostat that turns them on when the temps are below 32 (or thereabouts); it's located under the right side cover. Yes, that's what the two plugs are under the carbs.

You might want to keep them working at temps below 40F

According to the shop manual the temperature switch turns on the carb heaters when the temperature falls below 10ºC (50ºF).

I am corrected 50ºF is skosh more than 32ºF or thereabouts
