Would like to add the tach on my BA. How hard is it to install??? Is it a simple remove cover and plug in or is more involved????

The one I put in my '04 was dead simple plug and play.

simple as unbolting the dash, pop the blank out bolt the tach in, plug the harness in, and bolt the dash back on. I did Wendys 04 America in just a few minutes.

Yep, just put the tach in my 07. I'd say it was under 5 minutes and I could do the next one in 90 seconds! It could NOT be any eaiser.

No there is a plug right there for it when you remove the dash, don't have to remove the tank.

Some older bikes have a different harness and then you need to replace it with one supplied in the kit. If you have 3 blank plugs under the dash you are plug and play.

just got a tach for my '02 America. Gotta run a wire from the igniter conn under the tank to the instrument conn behind headlight, CAN'T FIND THE SPECIFIC PINS CALED OUT IN THE INSTRUCTIONS FROM TRIUMPH. Anybody got a schematic or wire color diagram od these two connectors that shows more clearly where I plug the tach into??? HELP!!!

Hi...Try the 'Tech Vault' - 'Electrical' for the wiring diagram..
If at first you don't succeed....lower your standards!!

Ray, I'm not much of an electrician, but that wiring diagram (from Haynes manual) has two "Front Right Turn Signal". They forgot to re-label the one on the left is "Front Left Turn Signal", especially since it goes to the left side of the Turn Signal Switch. I'm not sure what other typos are in there.
Blue/White 2007 TBA, Thruxton needles, Unifilter, AI removed, Polaris Bellmouth, Bubs, Nology Coils/wires, Lightbar, Ricor Intiminators, Hagon Nitros, Tall Sissy Bar w/luggage rack, Dart flyscreen & Lowers. 130 Mains, TrueGel Battery MG12-BS.

Maybe the guy who made it only turns right like that woman I saw on TV. She had some phobia and she planned her trips so she only turned 1 way, she was afraid to turn the other!
