Anyone in around Edmonton have a big bore installed? According to Echo Cycle they have installed LOTS of them, but I cannot see any one from around here posting as such. I just finished mine last night, 14 days from ordering the kit to starting it back up. Ordered the kit on a Tuesday, tore the bike down on the weekend. Kit arrived on the following Tuesday. Took the cylinders to Cycle Works (Poolaris dealer)on Wednesday, got a call Thursday night the cylinders were ready, picked them up Friday. Put bike back together as far as I could on the second weekend. Monday picked up a pair of camshaft oil feed tube banjo bolts and finished putting the bike together and start. I have one beer left of the 24 bought to do the job. Today I pick up registration and test ride. Hints and suggestions for those around here thinking of doing this. Dealer does not carry gaskets, 2 week delivery if you need to order them for the tensioner, clutch and alternator covers. Cycle Works quoted 400.00 for the boring and pressing in of the sleeves, bill was a little bit more with shop supplies and tax, no big deal. They also matched the pistons to holes. Dealer quoted 700.00, THERE IS A LOT OF WORK TO PUTTING IN ONE OF THOSE KITS. Last of all, save yourself a trip back to the dealer and pick up 2 new banjo bolts when you are picking up the copper washers and o-ring for the oil feed tube. You have a 50/50 chance of being able to install these without them breaking.
Hope this post is of use to anyone around here thinking of doing the install themselves.

400 sounds high, i also paid 400 but thats a long story. i made my own tensioner gasket out of automotive gasket. the pistons also HAVE to be matched to the cylinders. those lil banjo bolts are a pain in the but and they don't give those lil things away

Hey Jake,
I have not crossed paths with any Trump riders in the Edmonton area that has done this. Rumour is that Echo Cycle is known to tell a few "tall-tales". I haven't experienced anything personally although I got the run-around on a set of pipes.
The only other Edmontonian on the board is Trev(Fillo) and he has not done such work either.
Good luck with your bike and hopefully we cross paths sometime.

Yeah, Echo does not give me that warm fuzzy feeling. They wanted 400.00 to do the cylinders the first time I called, and 700.00 to do the cylinders the when the kit showed up. Also got quoted 2000.00 for a big bore kit, parts only. Cycle Works did a nice job on the barrels and matched the pistons to cylinders. The banjo bolts are 8.92 each here.

+1 on the sub-standard service from Echo cycle. I think they got that name from the sound you hear when you ask their staff for help. lol. I refuse to deal with them anymore. They ordered in 14 washers for my new brakelines. The next day when I showed up to get them there were ten missing. The parts guy didn't even bat an eye when I became so angry that I just burned $70 worth of gas in my truck to get to Edmonton just for those stupid little washers. Apparently the "service department" put them on another bike and I was SOL. I was not aware that they had a "Service department". The only good service I ever got there was the day I walked in with the cheque for my new America. Ever since it's been like hitting my head against a wall trying to deal with them! And that's all I have to say about that.
